For many people, a pregnancy is a time for rejoicing and preparing for birth, an occasion for celebrating in the present and planning for the future.
For some people, a pregnancy that is unexpected can bring about confusion, panic, and even fear. There IS light at the end of the tunnel, though it might not be easy to see it, at first.
A woman might feel pressure — from her husband, or her boyfriend, or other friends, or her family — to make choices that she would not make if she had time to think things through. If she feels all alone, without understanding and support, she might even put pressure on herself to choose a "quick and easy" fix to what seems right now to be only an immediate and short-term problem.
She might make a better choice if she had support from people who care, who have experience, and who understand what she's going through. If she had the time and opportunity to get better information, complete information about ALL the choices available to her, she could make the best decision about what to do. She could make an informed choice for herself and her future.
At our LifeCare Centers, a woman can get the time she needs. She can get the confidential privacy she wants. She can get the emotional support and the material support she needs. She can get the information she needs. She can come to understand ALL the possible consequences of each possible choice she could make. With the best information, she can make an informed choice, the healthiest choice, the best choice, both for now and for later.
At the LifeCare Centers, we believe that a woman is a WHOLE person. She has her own unique physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. We work with her personally, and, together, we look at the WHOLE picture and work with her in her TOTAL situation. We understand that she's going to make her own choice. We believe that she would prefer to make an informed choice.
We don't believe in a "quick and easy" fix. Why? Because we know from experience that a "quick and easy" fix often leads to long-term and difficult problems. An immediate fix, if it's not a good fix, can break the future. We believe in good fixes. We believe in the future.
We believe in a WHOLE solution for a WHOLE woman. We offer her time. We offer her hope. We respect her privacy and honor her confidentiality. We offer her resources. We offer her practical assistance. We offer her professional referrals to meet her own needs. We offer her compassion and the benefit of our many experiences. We offer her what she needs to make this vital choice an informed choice.
This can take time. It can take resources. At the LifeCare Centers, we have the time and the resources. And we care. That's why we're here.
A pregnancy affects other people, too. We know that people close to a woman care about her. When they come to a LifeCare Center, they find out that we care about her, too, and about them. Our counselors offer information, compassion, understanding, and assistance to husbands, boyfriends, other friends, and families in accepting and supporting a woman's pregnancy. We have time and lots of great information for them, as well as for her. That's why we're here. We care.
